India Robinson was born in 1986 and grew up in Napa, Ca. She started her restaurant adventure at a Mexican restaurant called “Amigos” here in Napa when she was 17. In her early 20’s, she then moved to a more upscale restaurant called “Celadon”. India then became a mother to two beautiful children, a boy and a girl. India enjoys spending her free time with them, going on walks to the park and mini adventures throughout the day. She also enjoys staying at home and reading novels by her favorite author and heading down to the local pool hall after a long shift with some friends.
India has worked at Downtown Joe’s now for 13 years and has loved every minute of it. At 18 years old, she set out in search of something new and was suggested to go and apply at Joe’s. So she did and here she is receiving the “best server” award by Bohemian magazine years later. India has expressed her deep love and connection for Joe’s as a restaurant and also as her second family. She says that her favorite part of her job is being able to see her “regulars” that come in weekly specifically to see her, also all the friends that have become family over the years. India will describe Joe’s as “a fun and very close nit place, it’s more than just a job for me at this point. I enjoy going into work each and every day”. She also has recently taken on more responsibility in the establishment and joined the management team and is doing a fabulous job. India’s advice to the next aspiring “best server” is… “To enjoy your work and don’t let the bad times affect you.” Come down and ask to sit in India’s section and you will surely not be disappointed.
